【摘要】:Eddy-currentexaminationisanondestructivemethodoflocatingdiscontinuitiesintubingmadeofmaterialsthatconductelectricity.Signalscanbeproducedbydiscontinuitieslocatedeitherontheinneroroutersurfacesofthetube,orbydiscontinuitiestotallycontainedwithinthetubewall.Whenusinganinternalprobe,thedensityofeddycurrentsinthetubewalldecreasesveryrapidlyasthedistancefromtheinternalsurfaceincreases;thustheamplitudeoftheresponsetooutersurfacediscontinuitiesdecreasescorrespondingly.Someindicationsobtainedbythismethodmaynotberelevanttoproductquality.Forexample,anirrelevantsignalmaybecausedbymetallurgicalormechanicalvariationsthataregeneratedduringmanufacturebutthatarenotdetrimentaltotheenduseoftheproduct.Irrelevantindicationscanmaskunacceptablediscontinuitiesoccurringinthesamearea.Relevantindicationsarethosethatresultfromnonacceptablediscontinuities.Anyindicationabovetherejectlevel,whichisbelievedtobeirrelevant,shallberegardedasunacceptableuntilitisproventobeirrelevant.Fortubinginstalledinheatexchangers,predictablesourcesofirrelevantindicationsarelands(shortunfinnedsectionsinfinnedtubing),dents,scratches,toolchattermarks,orvariationsincoldwork.Rollingtubesintothesupportsmayalsocauseirrelevantindications,asmaythetubesupportsthemselves.Eddy-currentexaminationsystemsaregenerallynotabletoseparatetheindicationgeneratedbytheendofthetubefromindicationsofdiscontinuitiesadjacenttotheendsofthetube(endeffect).Therefore,thisexaminationmaynotbevalidattheboundariesofthetubesheets.1.1Thispracticedescribesprocedurestobefollowedduringeddy-currentexamination(usinganinternal,probe-type,coilassembly)ofnonmagnetictubingthathasbeeninstalledinaheatexchanger.Theprocedurerecognizesboththeuniqueproblemsofimplementinganeddy-currentexaminationofinstalledtubing,andtheindigenousformsoftube-walldeteriorationwhichmayoccurduringthistypeofservice.Thedocumentprimarilyaddressesscheduledmaintenanceinspectionofheatexchangers,butcanalsobeusedbymanufacturersofheatexchangers,eithertoexaminetheconditionofthetubesafterinstallation,ortoestablishbaselinedataforevaluatingsubsequentperformanceoftheproductafterexposuretovariousenvironmentalconditions.Theultimatepurposeisthedetectionandevaluationofparticulartypesoftubeintegritydegradationwhichcouldresultinin-servicetubefailures.1.2Thispracticedoesnotestablishacceptancecriteria;theymustbespecifiedbytheusingparties.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
