【摘要】:Thistestmethodcoversproceduresforthedeterminationofdielectricstrengthofsolidinsulatingmaterialsatcommercialpowerfrequencies,underspecifiedconditions.Unlessotherwisespecified,thetestsshallbemadeat60Hz.However,thistestmethodmaybeusedatanyfrequencyfrom25to800Hz.Atfrequenciesabove800Hz,dielectricheatingmaybeaproblem.ThistestmethodisintendedtobeusedinconjunctionwithanyASTMstandardorotherdocumentthatreferstothistestmethod.Referencestothisdocumentshouldspecifytheparticularoptionstobeused(see).Itmaybeusedatvarioustemperatures,andinanysuitablegaseousorliquidsurroundingmedium.Thistestmethodisnotintendedformeasuringthedielectricstrengthofmaterialsthatarefluidundertheconditionsoftest.Thistestmethodisnotintendedforuseindeterminingintrinsicdielectricstrength,direct-voltagedielectricstrength,orthermalfailureunderelectricalstress(seeTestMethodD3151).Thistestmethodismostcommonlyusedtodeterminethedielectricbreakdownvoltagethroughthethicknessofatestspecimen(puncture).Itmayalsobeusedtodeterminedielectricbreakdownvoltagealongtheinterfacebetweenasolidspecimenandagaseousorliquidsurroundingmedium(flashover).WiththeadditionofinstructionsmodifyingSection,thistestmethodmaybeusedforprooftesting.ThistestmethodissimilartoIECPublication243-1.AllproceduresinthismethodareincludedinIEC243-1.DifferencesbetweenthismethodandIEC243-1arelargelyeditorial.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardstatementsaregiveninSection.Alsosee.
