【摘要】:Thistestprovidesaneasymethodofdeterminingtheviscosityofcellulosederivativesinagivensolvent.Theanswersareinunitscommonlyusedinindustrialpractice.Suchinformationisneededforcellulosederivativesthataretobeextruded,molded,sprayed,orbrushedasisorinsolution.1.1Thistestmethoddescribestheapparatusandgeneralprocedureformakingball-dropviscositymeasurementsonsolutionsofvariouscellulosederivatives.Instructionsforsamplepreparation,solutionconcentration,andotherdetailsarediscussedintheASTMmethodsfortherespectivecellulosederivatives.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicabletosolutionsofvariouscellulosederivativeshavingviscositiesgreaterthan10P,byusingballsofvariousdiametersanddensities.Viscosityresultsareexpressedpreferablyinpoises.1.3Incommercialpractice,viscositiesareoftenexpressedinsecondsusing2.38-mm(3/32-in.)stainlesssteelballs.Whentheviscosityisoutsidethepracticalrangefortheseballs(75to300P),themeasurementcanbemadeusingacalibratedpipetviscometeroradifferentballandcalculatingtheobservedviscositytothecorrespondingtimefora2.38-mm(3/32-in.)ball,eventhoughitisasmallfractionofasecond.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
