【摘要】:nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;Dialkyldithiocarbamates(DTCs),benzothiazoles,andthiuramsareoftenusedasvulcanizationacceleratorsinNRLproducts.ZincDTCacceleratorsareaddedeitherdirectlyorareformedinsituduringthevulcanizationprocessviareactionbetweenathiuram(s)andzincoxide.DTCs,benzothiazoles,andthiuramshavebeendetectedinleachatesfrommedicaldevicesmadeofrubbersuchasgloves.Studieshaveshownthesechemicalscancauseallergiccontactdermatitis.Asimpleselectivemethodtomonitorrubberacceleratorlevelsinrubberextractswouldbeusefulforqualitycontrol,productscreeningandresearch.Thiscolorimetricassaymeasuresdialkyldithiocarbamates,includingzincdialkyldithiocarbamates(ZDTC),mercaptobenzothiazole(MBT)andthiuramsasatotalthiolvulcanizationacceleratorlevelinrubberproducts.AUVspectrophotometerwithdetectionat320nmisusedtomeasuretheZDTC,mercaptobenzothiazoleandthiurams.Sampleextractsdilutedat1:20priortomeasurementonthespectrophotometerisusuallysufficienttoquantifytheresidualacceleratorlevelfrommostcommerciallyavailablerubbergloves;however,sampledilutioncanbeadjusted(fromneatextractto>1:20dilution)basedonanalyticalneeds.ThiuramsandZDTCscomplexwithcobaltturningtheextracttoaconcentration-dependentshadeofgreen.ZDTCsreactsquicklywhilethiuramsreactveryslowly(requiringaheatcatalyst).MercaptobenzothiazoledoesnotcomplextoCo(III),however,itabsorbsstronglyat320nm.ItcanbedistinguishedfrombothZDTCsandthiuramsbyitsstrongabsorbanceat320nmwithoutthecobaltdependentvisiblegreencolor.CobaltcomplexedthiuramsandZDTCs,butnotMBT,alsohaveandabsorbanceat370nm(2).1.1Thistestmethodisdesignedtoquantifytheamountoftotalextractableacceleratorsinnaturalrubberlatex(NRL)andnitrilegloves.Threecommonclassesofrubberaccelerators,themercaptobenzothiazole(MBT),thiuram,andthiocarbamatetypecompoundscanbedetectedandquantifiedbythismethod.Ifthespecificrubberaccelerator(s)presentintheglovematerialisnotknown,quantificationisbasedonzincdibutyldithiocarbamate(ZDBC)equivalents.Thismethodwillnotdetectallpotentialrubberaccelerators,includingmercaptobenzothiazoledisulfide,dimorpholine,thioureasanddiphenyldiamine.1.2Forthepurposeofthistestmethod,therangeofchemicalacceleratormeasurementisbasedonthelimitofdetection(LOD)establishedintheperforminglaboratory.1.3Thistestmethodshouldbeperformedbyexperiencedanalystsorunderthesupervisionofthoseexperiencedintheuseofspectroscopyandworkingwithorganicsolvents.1.4Thistestmethodhasnotbeenvalidatedformeasurementoflongchaindithiocarbamatesoracceleratorsfromotherrubberproducts,suchaslubricatedcondoms(1).Althoughthisassayhasbeenreportedintheliteraturefortheevaluationofacceleratorlevelsincondoms,furthervalidationforacceleratormeasurementfromotherrubberproductsisrequiredbythetestinglaboratorypriortouse.1.5ThistestmethodisnotdesignedtoevaluatethepotentialofrubbermaterialstoinduceorelicitTypeIVskinsensitizationreactions(forTypeIVskinsensitizationreactionsseeTestMethodD6355).Totalextractableacceleratorcontentdoesnotreflectbioavailablityofindividualacceleratorsthataredetectedandmeasuredbythismethod.ThistestmethodshouldbeusedtotestandmeasurethetotalresidualchemicalacceleratorlevelinNRLandnitrileglovesundercontrolledlaboratoryconditions,andshouldnotbeusedtodescribe,appraise,orassessthehazardorriskofthesematerialsorproductsunderactualin-useconditions.
