【摘要】:Thistestmethodissuitableforsettingspecificationsono-xyleneandforuseasaninternalqualitycontroltoolwhereo-xyleneisusedinamanufacturingprocess.Itmaybeusedindevelopmentorresearchworkinvolvingo-xylene.Purityiscommonlyreportedbysubtractingthedeterminedexpectedimpuritiesfrom100%.Absolutepuritycannotbedeterminedifunknownimpuritiesarepresent.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheanalysisofnormallyoccurringimpuritiesin,andthepurityof,o-xylenebygaschromatography.Impuritiesdeterminedincludenonaromatichydrocarbons,benzene,toluene,p-andm-xylenes,cumene,styrene,andethylbenzene.1.2Thistestmethodisapplicableforimpuritiesatconcentrationsfrom0.001to2.000%andforo-xylenepuritiesof98%orhigher.1.3Thefollowingappliestoallspecifiedlimitsinthisstandard:forpurposesofdeterminingconformancewiththisstandard,anobservedvalueoracalculatedvalueshallberoundedoff"tothenearestunit"inthelastright-handdigitusedinexpressingthespecificationlimit,inaccordancewiththerounding-offmethodofPracticeE29.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecifichazardstatement,seeSection8.
